Meet Our Team

Dr Poon is the principal dentist at My Eastwood Dentist since 1989.

He attained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Sydney and started off his professional career gaining experience in distinguished dental practices spanning Australia and Hong Kong.

He then returned to Sydney and opened a humble single chair clinic in Eastwood where he built a reputation on providing the highest level of expertise and care to his patient, especially in endodontic (root canal treatment), restorative dentistry and prosthodontics including crown, bridges and dentures. Fast forward 4 decades, he now runs a modern, successful and thriving family practice with a team of experienced dentists delivering advanced dentistry for the local area.

Dr Poon continues to be obsessed and passionate about dentistry and regularly updates himself on the latest trends and techniques through professional courses and workshops internationally.

When you sit in Dr Poon’s chair, you can be sure that you are receiving the latest dental treatment with an expert of 40 year experience who prides himself on delivering perfect results.

Outside of work, Dr poon enjoys cooking, walking and traveling around the world. But most of all, he loves spending time with his family and his two adorable grandchildren.

Dr Janice has been working as a senior dentist at My Eastwood Dentist for over 15 years. In fact, many long-term patients may recall her as a child doing homework in the waiting room of our former premises over 35 years ago! From a young age, she witnessed the transformative power of dental treatment, seeing patients gain health and confidence which fuelled her passion to pursue dentistry.

After obtaining her Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland, Dr Janice has garnered two decades of experience in dental hospitals, children’s dental health clinics and private practices across Queensland and NSW. Her enthusiasm stems from the recognition of the privilege to provide immediate and impactful results for her patients. She finds it most rewarding and humbling when patients compliment her gentle touch, meticulous attention to detail and dedication to her work. Her aim is to create a professional, caring and comfortable environment, ensuring every dental appointment a positive experience.

Dr Janice firmly believes that with proper guidance and professional treatment, anyone can have a beautiful and healthy smile. She has an enthusiasm for all aspects of dentistry with a particular focus on cosmetic dentistry and paediatric dentistry.

As an active member of the Australian Dental Association, Dr Janice mentors other dentist during her non-clinical time and is a contributor to dental articles for the NSW Dentist Magazine. She is frequently invited by schools and preschools to educate and empower children to care for their teeth.

Outside of her professional life, Janice enjoys spending time with her children, traveling and baking.

Dr Choi attained her Bachelor of Dental surgery from the University of Sydney. After graduating, she returned to Hong Kong and worked in major hospitals in the public service for over a decade. During this esteemed part of her professional career, she was awarded a government scholarship to study paediatric dentistry at the Hong Kong University and obtained a Master of Dental Surgery in Paediatric Dentistry. As she continued to practice in general and paediatric dentistry, she took up a lecturing role at the Dental Therapist Training School and mentored the many undergraduate dental students at Hong Kong University.

Upon rejoining her family in Sydney, she became an integral part of the My Eastwood Dentist team to offer her expertise in general and paediatric dentistry to the practice and the local community.

Besides work, she enjoys travelling and learning new things such as Japanese literature, golf and snorkelling.

Dr Choi is tr-lingual and speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dr Vincent completed his post-graduate degree as a Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Sydney. Upon graduation, he was awarded a university medal in proficiency and professionalism in clinical dentistry, an Alumni medal for proficiency in paediatric dentistry and a prize from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons for outstanding research.

He also completed his Bachelor of Science (Advanced) at the University of Sydney and has achieved first-class honours in biochemistry, having already made some publications in contribution to the scientific field. In recent years, Dr Vincent has developed a passion and focus on cosmetic and oral surgery. His motto in dental treatment is “I let the patient direct me as long as we both have a deep understanding of all the pros and cons of the selected treatment”.

Outside of work, Vincent is still no stranger to excellence. He is a gold medallist in the Australian University Games. He now enjoys spending his free time doing dental coaching, rock climbing and catching up with his family and friends.

Sherry will be the smiling face to great you at your dental appointment. We are fortunate to have her at My Eastwood Dentist to keep things running smoothly and ensure that your experience with us is seamless from the moment you embark on your dental journey with us. She has over 10 years experience as a dental assistant/practice manager and is dedicated to providing top quality care for our patients.

In her free time, she loves travelling and cooking, exploring new cultures and flavours.
